Liquid potash is most commonly used in high-value crops such as potatoes, sugar beets, and carrots. Liquid potassium fertilizers are often derived from fermentation processes of industrial companies. Potassium is, after nitrogen, the nutrient that is absorbed in the greatest quantity by plants. It has a positive effect on the yield and quality of crops and reduces the crop's sensitivity to drought and frost. Additionally, it can somewhat reduce damage caused by certain fungal diseases.
