What does protamylasse do?
Experiments by the Louis Bolk Institute with various fertilizers indicate that protamylasse as a fertilizer releases nitrogen not only in large amounts but also very quickly. The nitrogen becomes available soon after application, much faster than for example with organic manure. The product also contains more effective organic matter than liquid manure.
Protamylasse is mainly used in calcium-demanding crops such as potatoes, cabbage, leek, carrots, and onions. But barley, wheat, maize, and sugar beets also thrive well with protamylasse. The product is frequently used both in construction and in grassland as an inexpensive calcium fertilizer.
For biogas production, protamylasse is a high-quality co-product with a good balance between energy and protein. Additionally, protamylasse ensures a good balance in the nitrogen-phosphorus ratio of the digestate. The high potassium content makes the digestate's sale particularly attractive for arable farming.
Benefits of protamylasse
Protamylasse falls outside the scope of nitrogen from animal manure. The product still counts towards the nitrogen usage norm and the phosphorus usage norm. It may be applied to land throughout the year. The product can be sprayed, keeping the land free from contamination and structural damage. Protamylasse is still permitted in organic farming.Protamylasse usage advice
