Whey protein is a pure form of protein. The fats and lactose have been filtered from the proteins, making it pure. This leaves only the high-quality amino acids. Since it is already filtered, the animal doesn't have to do it anymore, allowing it to be absorbed faster by the animal. The purer the protein, the faster and easier the absorption.
